A Personal Experience By Flea
I lived in a townhouse. My neighbor, Toni, would come by unexpected at times. One morning, I sent the kids off to school, but I had the day off. So, I told them to lock the door behind them, so I could stay in bed. About 10 minutes after my kids left for school, I heard the door open and a woman cry out. "HELLO!" I sleep in the nude, so I jumped up very quickly. I assumed it was my neighbor. She would let herself in at times. I yelled at her, "HOLD ON! I NEED TO GET DRESSED!" she then said, "COME HERE" She sounded quite mad and upset. As I was putting my pants on I was thinking, what could she be upset about? She continued to speak, but I couldn't make out what she was saying. I yelled again, "I CAN’T HEAR YOU! HOLD ON, AND I WILL BE DOWN IN A MINUTE!" She continued to talk, and it sounded like she was moving into my kitchen.
Meanwhile, I'm upset that my kids didn't lock the door like I asked. This all happened in about 30 seconds. I got my pants on and started down for the stairs where she was. By the time I got half way down the stairs, I realized that I had locked the door behind the kids. I had forgotten that I had locked the door myself - I was half asleep. My heart started to pound, and when I looked at the door, I could clearly see that the deadbolt was still in place. Who came into my house? I said, "HELLO?" No one answered. I repeated "HELLO? TONI? Still no answer. There was NO ONE in my home. I called my neighbor to see if she went into my house. She was sleeping. I couldn't explain what had happened.
The very next evening, my kids were taking a bath. My oldest daughter yelled at me. She asked me who was at the house. I told her no one. She had told me that she had heard a child crying for their Mom, and she thought it was one of her friends. At night, I would hear tiny foot steps running through my home.
One night, I was dead asleep, and I felt a nudge on my arm. "MOMMY" I heard whispered into my ear. I felt my body shake as if someone was shaking me. "MOMMY" When I opened my eyes, no one was there!
