This creepy photo was submitted by Rita via email. Rita writes:
Last October, my car broke down while my husband was at the fire academy in GA. getting certified as a firefighter. My car, while he was gone, decided to stop working, so my husband, after a frantic phone call from me, asked his buddy to come by the house that night to see if he could fix it for me so I could go to work the next day.
Brian, my husbands best friend, came over and found the problem with the car and asked me if we had a specific tool which I readily went into the house to find.
Brian stood by my car waiting for my return with the tool and noticed how the American flag I always fly hung down perfectly at the front of the house (my husband is retired from the Military and Brian was due to retun to Iraq 2 weeks hence), took out the camera his brother had just given him upon his promotion to 1st sargent, and took a picture of the flag draped perfectly in the stillness.
Later that evening took a picture of me by my corvette.
Before leaving that night, Brian asked me to download the pictures from his new camera to my computer so he could see how to do that when he took pictures while in Iraq.
I downloaded the 4 pictures he had taken that day...... 2 were of soldiers he knew and worked with, 1 of me and my car, and the last one, of the flag over my doorstep he took approx. 30 mins prior.
When we looked at the photos all were fine and clear, except the one on my doorstep, where something appeared I've never seen the likes of before... (see the original photo)...
May God strike me dead this very instant if I have in anyway manipulated this photo.............. as God is my witness this is what we downloaded from his camera.
I have no statuary on the top steps in front of my front door, and I had just walked in through that door and back out it. He was not playing a joke on me. I came out the front door before he even had time to lower the camera from his eye, so I know there was nothing on the steps when i came out the door. All I can think is this creature is some kind of nature spirit, or a demon that followed me home from a cemetery.
In 28 years of ghost investigating, I've never seen anything like it.
